Burnt Store Presbyterian has a long history of serving its community, both locally, nationally, and abroad, and takes seriously the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-40:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me … Jesus replied, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

Local Missions
Back Pack Kidz by Yah-Yah Girls has been working for the neediest children of Charlotte County since 2010. As inconceivable as it is, children in Charlotte County are going hungry on the weekends! The Yah Yah Girls is bridging the weekend hunger gap of our community’s neediest children. BSPC participates in this activity by contributing both funding and “hands on” assistance.
Crossroads Hope Academy has a mission to provide a safe and secure home where teen foster boys (12-17 years old) are encouraged to love themselves, have faith, and develop relationships to best prepare them for the future. We believe that every young person deserves the chance to thrive—regardless of the hardships they’ve faced.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (Charlotte & Desoto County) mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church and to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity & Apostles Build is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. We supply Bibles to new Habitat owners in the area at their dedication, and local churches build one home each year for a qualifying family.
Jesus Loves You Ministry is the only Mobile Outreach Program for the Homeless in Port Charlotte, FL. Their goal is to help people become independently stable and in housing, working with human services, faith-based and government providers to ensure their clients have the greatest opportunity to succeed.
Misión Peniel/Immokalee exists to share the love of God by responding to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of farmworkers and their families in Immokalee, Florida. Our church provides meals and food supplies, as well as volunteers who go to Immokalee to pack food for distribution to migrant workers’ families.
Domestic Missions
ARCHway Institute provides a free service of advocating for thousands of individuals and families impacted by substance abuse disorders. They provide guidance to treatment and recovery resources that are available in our community and nationwide.
Cultivate Abundance is working for a world where those who harvest America’s food have access to justice, dignity, and the fresh, nourishing food they deserve.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is an emergency program of the PC(USA) focused on long term recovery for disaster impacted communities. Our church supports PDA with monetary donations and sends teams of workers as needed.
Remote Area Medical – RAM® Since 1985, RAM® has provided free healthcare services to those in need through the operation of mobile pop-up clinics around the United States. RAM’s free clinics deliver quality services to underserved and uninsured individuals who do not have access to or cannot afford a doctor.
International Missions
Haiti Nursing Foundation (HNF) improves health in the Republic of Haiti by supporting quality nursing education. HNF’s vision is to support centers of excellence for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education for nurses, preparing them to serve as practitioners, faculty, and leaders in Haiti’s healthcare system. There graduates are transforming healthcare in Haiti.
Haiti Outreach Ministries partners with Mission Communautaire de l’Église Chrétienne des Cités. Their work is focused in five key areas: Education, Spiritual Care, Health Care, Economic Empowerment and Clean water. Our direct contact, Pastor Leon Dorleans, shares the gospel with the people of Haiti through evangelism, education and medical care. BSPC members sponsor individual children’s education from 3 years old through college.
Haiti Reforestation Partnership (CODEP) Since 1990, CODEP (Comprehensive Development Project) has been lending support in Haiti. They work with the dedicated, awesome, rural people of Haiti to strengthen the next generation of the Haitian people and their trees by providing training programs for clean water, agriculture, fishponds and banking.
